City Marks Designated Safe Routes for Walking to School

Everyone is getting ready for the start of the school year, including Decatur Public Works, Decatur Active Living and local Safe Routes to School volunteers. The City Schools of Decatur is piloting a program called, 4/5 Academy at 5th Avenue, which includes marking the recommended safe routes with sidewalk markers. This is being done in conjunction with other engineering improvements that the City is making to improve walking conditions along school routes.
